My
name is Jasmine, I reside in the USA, my
grandparents were two of the people that
were taken from the state of Bihar
and/or Uttar Pradesh, in the early
1900's, they were taken on a boat called
the Fatel Razak by the British as
indentured laborers to Trinidad, West
Indies, I am trying desperately to find
my relatives.
I don't know the exact city my
grandparents came from, my grandmother
often spoke of Chandigarh, Bihar,
Lucknow, Kanpur and Patna, she died when
I was a very young girl, I don't
remember much. I do remember my
grandfather's name was Gheesah Mian or
Miah, maybe the spelling is wrong, but
the name would be similar to this one,
he wore a Turban or Pagri on his head
and spoke Urdu, he was a tall, fair skin
man, one of his sons were called Raja
and the other was called Boochoon.
My mother's name was Jainap.
My grandmother was a Hindu, she spoke
both Urdu and Hindi, she was a very fair
skin woman, her name was Lakhpatia or
Lac Patiah, here again, the spelling
could be wrong, but sounds the same. I
would appreciate it very much if you
could spare a little space in your News
Paper to publish my request, thank you.
Warm Regards,
Jasmine K. Hosein, USA |

I
am a regular visitor of this website for
last two years. The work done by this
whole PATNADAILY group is incredible, I
appreciate it. But unfortunately due to
certain group of people our one of the
best sections (Readers Write) is closed
now for time being. I've not contributed
many article to this section but I was a
regular reader of this section. I do
agree with the editor that in last
couple of months people started clashing
over religion, cast, personal attacks
and what not. It's shameful for all of
us. But my sincere request to the editor
that please start this section once
again, and my request to all the
prominent and regular writers of readers
write section: please don't write an
article which compels the editor to
close this section.
Guneshwar Anand
Editor's Note: Readers Write
section will return on March 1. Thanks
for your support. |

Fantastic!!!
This site really refreshes us with
news updates and so many other
activities happening in Bihar. Your
photo gallery is amazing. It means a
lot to us who are not in India and
feel happy even if we get the
glimpse of Patna. I just want to say
that you people are doing a GOOD
job, carry on, we are with you!!!

Dear
Sir, I would like to pay my tribute
to Late Dr Shailendra Nath
Srivastava through your portal.
His death is a big loss for our
state especially in the field of
educationists and scholars.
Not only that he was a good human
being from his heart and I remember
the help he gave me personally for
publishing of final year engineering
examination of diploma passed
students which was delayed due to
some technical problems. He was then
Chairman of Bihar State University
Commission.
My condolences are with his family
and once again I pay my full respect
to the deceased soul.

Hi,
I am a regular reader of
PatnaDaily.Com. It is such a
great site that I visit this
site almost daily.
I studied in Patna Women's'
college. Now I am a software
programmer in USA and many times
I am just so much home-sick.
But, In those low times, I just
visit your website, look at the
photos, read about my loving
hometown and feel so much
better. Thank you for
maintaining such a nice site.
Hope, it grows better and best
with the time.

Editor's Note: Almost
daily? Come on Ms. Sinha, you
can do better than that! :-) |

It's
really wonderful to visit a
newspaper website of our Bihar.
I appreciate your effort and
praise you for launching such a
website. I think there should be
a forum section in this web site
for direct reflection of people,
students' voices.

I
am a daily user of
PatnaDaily.Com and enjoy the
news and information in it.
Like recently I am making
full use of the recipes to
cook something on Sundays
when my wife is not cooking.
Thanks a lot for the
recipes.
You may also include a
little more information on
more Bihari recipes. You can
add a little on fashion for
men and women for people of
Patna.

Hi,
I am Ravish Kumar, a
resident of Patna City,
Bhadraghat. I am placed
as Software Engineer,
Infotech Enterprises, in
Hyderabad. Earlier, I
was working as Junior
Research Fellow in BRNS
research project as NIT
(erstwhile Bihar College
Of Engineering), Patna.
While sitting in Patna,
I used to just curse the
city for the
unlawfulness, almost
zero job avenues, silly
atmosphere but after
coming to Hyderabad, I
miss Patna.
Thanks to your site that
I am able to know the
new things coming to the
great ancient,
historical city of
Pataliputra. Like the
new development plan
formulated by our dear
Nitish Kumar. Thanks to
him and you too.
One thing to my friends
there out in Patna,
Hyderabad is the fastest
growing city in terms of
IT. Nearly 3 billion
dollars are to be spent
here in current
financial year. Almost
each and every IT MNC
has put up their
branches here. Even
Infosys is going to
erect the biggest
premises here only. What
a pity, the number of
Bihari IT guys can be
counted on fingers. Most
probably, the language
and food problems
restrict them from
coming here. But I can
say that at least
language is not at all a
problem. So come in
great numbers and
enlighten your careers.
Thank you PatnaDaily
people, once again.

Dear
Sir,
I came to know about
PatnaDaily.Com through
Google search, when I
was searching election
results in which NDA
Govt. came to power. I'm
basically a Kannadiga
residing in Bangalore.
I'm in no way associated
with Bihar. However,
today I'm a regular
reader of PatnaDaily.
I'm so impressed with
the work. I feel elated
every time when Mr.
Nitish Kumar thinks of
development of Bihar.
Hopefully, crime rates
would come down in Bihar
and all the people would
live peacefully. I also
congratulate the people
of Bihar for rejecting
rogues like Lalu Prasad
Yadav and Ram Vilas
Paswan. Hope such
creatures won't
re-emerge in Indian
politics. Long Live
Bihar!!!

Dear
editor,
First I want to
congratulate you for
this site and content of
this site.
i am from Patna but
staying and working in
Delhi since long. I
happened to browse
through this site while
searching news on
Google. I have added it
on my favourite list. I
feel attached to my
state through your site.
It's a very good attempt
to inform people about
the real situation of
our state.
Bihar has always been a
victim of bad publicity
but I think information
technology is a tool
with which we can reach
the mass and attempt to
change the view of
people about Bihar. Lets
us all try to bring good
fame for Bihar and PD is
doing a great job in it.
I again want to
congratulate PD for its
wonderful and truthful
presentation and would
like to give a
suggestion that with
news if you could add
photograph also then it
will become even more
expressive.

Thanks
friends, it indeed is
pleasing and inspiring
to see you people
working to bring out
true spirit and picture
of Patna, especially on
the world of internet
where our presence is
very low. For people
like me who love and
miss their native land,
your efforts are the
only way to get the feel
of being at and around
Patna.
Anand
P.S. - Can you people
get a picture of Vanijya
Mahavidyalya and put it
on the web site? |
February 21, 2006
The
site is really good and
very well managed. I've
not seen this down or
any performance issue.
Photo Gallery and images
of Patna is very good
and people like us who
migrated from Bihar 15
years ago feel nostalgic
by looking at all the
images. Bihar is the
state where I spent my
early 20 years of my
life and then migrated
due to all those
political scenario and
worse job opportunity.
I appreciate
PatnaDaily.Com and
salute you for bringing
forward such a nice web
site.

Hello
and Namaste!
Like the site a lot.
Very nicely done. I grew
up in Patna. Now I live
in the US. I am trying
to find out about a
great music teacher who
resides in Patna, Shri
Vindra Prasad Gaur. He
was vocal classical
teacher for long time at
Vindhya Kala Mandir in
Kadam Kuan. He was sick
last year and was in the
news. If you can provide
me with any news, I
would really appreciate
that. Thank you,

Hello

I read your comment
Editor saheb. I am doing
better than that now!!!
I cannot resist opening
this site every morning,
and it remains open for
the whole day. This site
is just so wonderful!!!
Keep up the good work.
Thanks,
Rakhee Sinha
Editor's Note:
Way to go, Rakhee.
That's what we call
loyalty.
Seriously though, we are
so pleased to have such
loyal visitors as
yourself that it makes
it all worthwhile. And
don't forget to send
your views and opinions
on anything related to
Bihar at the
Readers Write
forum. Without a doubt, we
have a very smart,
intelligent group of
people who, in their own
unique ways, are making
the entire state of
Bihar proud without
worrying about any
returns or accolades.
Thanks again for your
support. |

I
regularly access this
site. Please update it
regularly. Please update
latest development in
Patna as well as in
Bihar; this will help
convert the negative
image of Patna into
positive.

Your
site is very good you
are showing all news of
Patna. It's my
suggestion that you show
jobs in all the fields
in Patna and
Muzaffarpur.

PatnaDaily
is really a great
initiative to keep the
Biharis spread all
across the globe in
touch with their
homeland. It's really a
hit show as far as the
content and coverage of
the news is concerned.
To further enrich this
effort two suggestions
has come to mind. They
are the following:
1. If you can include
some pictures of certain
events along with the
news, it will bring us
even more close to our
homeland.
2. Going further if you
can provide RSS Feeds on
the website, it will
help the readers in
organizing their news.
I hope these suggestion
are in line with your
bigger goal and
objectives.

It's
a great site. It makes
Biharis hearts fill with

I
am really rejoiced by
seeing this site
especially after seeing
all those photos. It
seemed like a dream that
I was able to see those

though being so far from
home. It really brought
in retrospect feeling.
I am thankful to these
people who have done
such a wonderful work by
putting such a wonderful
