So is the 'Make in India' logo Plagiarized?

A story by thenewsminute.com is accusing India of stealing the 'Make in India' logo from a Swiss Bank marketing campaign launched in July 2013.

The logo was originally designed by Swiss designer Nadine Geissbulher for the Cantonal Bank of Zurich in Switzerland and was launched on July 4, 2013, the report said.

Amitabh Kant, the Secretary of the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion under the Narendra Modi administration furiously denies the charges of allegations saying on his Twitter account: "Since time immemorial Lion has been the official emblem of India. Stands for courage, tenacity & wisdom - all Indian values."

He further said on his Twitter account: "All d 30 vibrant & dynamic Make In India Lions. Not 1 of them resembles d dull, boring & monotonous Swiss or Cuban Lion."

In another tweet, Kant says: "The logo is inspired by India's strongest symbol ever- TheAshoka emblem+ a bit of RBI. Wheel in Ashoka Chakra forms the centerpiece of India's national flag. Wheel denotes peaceful progress & dynamism."
