Patna: Alex Parrish, the glamorous star of US television hit Quantico, otherwise known by her real name Priyanka Chopra, arrived in Patna on Wednesday amidst hundreds of screaming fans at the airport.

The star of over 50 Indian films was in Patna to promote Bhojpuri film 'Bum Bum Bol Raha Hai Kashi' – the second regional film to be made under her own production banner Purple Pebble Pictures.

Despite sweltering heat and extremely tight security arrangement, Chopra's fans waited for hours outside Patna Airport to get a glimpse of the international star who also plays a major role in the under-production reboot of the '90s beach drama Baywatch.

Chopra, who was already an established actor in the Bollywood before signing up for Quantico, the FBI television drama, arrived on a chartered plane accompanied by eight security guards and her mother Madhu Chopra who has played a major role in the making of the 'Bum Bum Bol Raha Hai Kashi'.

After briefly stopping at Hotel Panache at South Gandhi Maidan, Chopra and her entourage drove to P&M Mall where she was once again mobbed by her fans eager to get her autograph or a selfie with her.

Talking to the reporters, Chopra said that Bhojpuri was in her blood as she was born near Jamshedpur, now part of Jharkhand, and her mother spoke Bhojpuri at home. "Besides, I feel it is very important to encourage movie-making in regional languages," she said.

To be released tomorrow Friday June the 10th across Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, the film features Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua', Anrapali Dubey, and Antara Banerjee in lead roles and is written and directed by Santosh Mishra.
