With a chequered career of over two decades in a large PSU and now with little chance of reaching the top echelons in my organization, I tend to rationalise, looking at the dirty games people play to reach the top. These are ambitious, no-nonsense, focused people with one aim – a pursuit of personal aspirations.
Sanjay Dutt has none but himself to blame for his sorry situation. Baba, as Sanjay is known among the film fraternity, has been a problem child. Often whimsical, emotional, childish, he has also shown his strong, pious and spiritual side at times.
MNREGS (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme), a master stroke of UPA-I, paid rich dividends to the Congress and the party was reelected to form a second successive government (albeit in coalition) in 2009.
There has been enough hue and cries on the two recent moves by Govt. of India, viz. FDI in Retail and revision of diesel prices/ partial removal of LPG subsidy. While politicians and economists will have their views, I would request the readers to spare a thought for the beleaguered Public Sector Unit (PSU) oil companies. Bear in mind that these companies are also running on public money. I leave FDI to Mamata and the rest of the opposition.
The Senas are at it again. The Thackeray cousins, split only on personal issues, are now finding common cause in Bihari bashing and spewing other vitriolic statements about media in general and Hindi news channels in particular.
