Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) President and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, at a press conference in Patna on Thursday, demanded CBI probe into the recent killings of politicians in Bihar saying there was a concerted effort by those in power to eliminate any sign of opposition in the state.

"Those who say there is no Jungle Raj II in Bihar are running away from the reality. Bihar is in the clutches of criminals who are getting protection from people in power. Things have gotten worse since the Mahagathbandhan government came into power three months ago," the LJP chief said.

Once again reiterating his demand for the imposition of President's Rule in Bihar, Paswan said that he had apprised Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the law and order situation in the state that has everyone worried except the current government.

Citing the murders of BJP state Vice President Visheshwar Ojha, LJP leader Brijnathi Singh, and Kedar Nath Singh, also a BJP leader, the Union Minister said that criminals felt emboldened under the current administration and did not even spare Vijendra Yadav, a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, despite his party being a senior partner in the Nitish government.

Paswan's son and a Member of Parliament Chirag Paswan and brother Ramchandra Paswan were also present at the press conference.
