Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Patna on Thursday condemned the attack on the party office saying the assault and siege of the BJP office was not a coincidence but part of a well-orchestrated plan hatched by the Janata Dal – U leaders at their office on the same street as the BJP office.

"There is no doubt that this was a pre-planned move to hurt and intimidate our workers who were present at our office at the time the criminal incident took place. The plan was hatched by none other than Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as was evident by absence of police. Those who were in fact present on the occasion did nothing to stop the RJD and JD-U goons from breaching the BJP office until our workers raised a protest," party state President Mangal Pandey said.

The BJP leader further said that his party was aware of a possible attack by the JD-U activists and the police was informed accordingly. "We were assured that the protestors would be stopped at the Kargil Chowk but not only they did not do so, they gave them a free hand in vandalizing the BJP office while they remained moot spectators," Pandey said.

Party spokesperson Sanjay Mayukh, while also condemning today's incident, said that it was beneath the dignity of the office of the Chief Minister to hatch a murderous plan to intimidate the opposition and Nitish Kumar should either resign or removed from his post.
