Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Patna on Friday once again protested against the ruling Grand Alliance outside the Assembly building demanding immediate check on rising crime in the state and arrest of criminals being protected by a number of Janata Dal – U and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders.
"This government has failed on every front but it has particularly done a very poor job in keeping the crime numbers low in the state. Murder has become rampant in the state as was witnessed in Patna on Thursday when a businessman and a Muslim youth were murdered in two separate incidents causing a riot in the state capital," Prem Kumar, the leader of the opposition in the state Assembly, said.
Chanting anti-Nitish and anti-Lalu slogans, BJP legislators said that crime in Bihar had gone up by a large percentage since the Mahagathbandhan government came into power a few months ago.
"The public is in a state of panic because of huge surge in murder, kidnapping, and rape cases but the government remains oblivious to the safety of the people. Police officials are proving to be ineffective in arresting criminals and there seems to be a total disconnect with the reality in the Chief Minister's office," the protestors said while threatening to intensify their stir if the government did not restore the rule of law without further delay in Bihar.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
