Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former legislator Surendra Prasad Sinha on Thursday quit the party and joined the Janata Dal – U. He was inducted in the party by none other than the JD-U President and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The former legislator from Gurua constituency in Gaya district was sworn in at the official residence of the Chief Minister on 7 Circular Road in the presence of Parliamentary Working Minister Shravan Kumar, Sanjay Kumar Singh and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Sinha said that he felt suffocated in the BJP and was feeling much relieved to be out of the party.
"Today's BJP is only fanning communal disharmony in the country and the JD-U was the only party that could effectively counter its growing influence in the nation. I am very thankful to Nitish Kumar for taking me in the JD-U," he said.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
