Patna: NDA leaders in Patna on Wednesday sat on a day-long dharna in Gardanibagh demanding the imposition of Crime Control Act (CCA) on bailed former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP from Siwan Mohammed Shahabuddin saying his release from the prison could result in a surge in murder and abduction cases in Bihar.
"There is only one place on earth where Shahabuddin belongs and that is in a maximum security prison with no chance of parole. His freedom is a threat to the law-abiding citizens and the Nitish government must arrest him again and impose CCA just as CCA was slapped on another criminal and Janata Dal – U leader Anant Singh," former Deputy Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Kumar Modi said.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP state President Mangal Pandey said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was obligated to sack Tej Pratap Yadav, Bihar Health Minister and the son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, after his photo with a known sharpshooter Mohammed Kaif surfaced on the social media network on Wednesday.
Besides Modi and Pandey, others who took part in today's dharna included Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Prem Kumar, Shahnawaz Hussain, Nand Kishore Yadav, and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leaders.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
