Patna: Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, the man also known as the mouthpiece of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad Yadav, on Wednesday once again stirred the pot when he said that it was not a surprise that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was once again getting close to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) knowing even in the past he was a close ally of the saffron party.

Apparently peeved by Kumar's open support of the demonetization efforts by the Narendra Modi government, a move fiercely opposed by the Modi-baiters, Singh said that everyone was seeing that the Chief Minister was once again trying to get cozy with the BJP but this was not surprising since Kumar had been in the NDA camp for much too long to stay away from it.

"It won't be surprising at all if Nitish Kumar once again joins hand with the BJP," the party deputy general secretary said.

The senior RJD leader who once was seen as the successor of Lalu Prasad Yadav only to be eclipsed by Yadav's wife Rabri Devi and his two sons who are not part of the Nitish Cabinet said that he was not afraid to speak his mind and in spite of all criticism from within his own party, he would continue to speak the truth whether people liked it or not.

"Nitish Kumar has created a state of confusion by speaking in favor of demonetization when rest of the Grand Alliance members are strongly opposed to it. He should have thought before making such contradictory statements. Even in his own party, Sharad Yadav is singing a different tune in the Parliament while Nitish Kumar is on a completely different track in Bihar," he said.

The RJD leader further suggested that the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar should have kept the same electoral arrangement for the Uttar Pradesh state elections because a fragmented opposition would help no one but the BJP in UP elections.

Taking full advantage of Singh's statements, BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi said he agreed with the RJD leader's assessment.

"A man who can betray 17 years of relationship with the BJP for his personal gains can also dump Lalu Prasad Yadav like yesterday's news if it serves his political purpose. No wonder Raghuvansh Prasad Singh is worried about Nitish going back to the NDA. The Chief Minister is a man devoid of any principles or morals because if he did, he would have never joined hands with Lalu Prasad Yadav," Modi said.
