Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Patna created a ruckus in the state Assembly on Wednesday demanding legal action against an engineer of the electricity board in Buxar accusing him of roughing up BJP workers who had gone to see him to request a transformer change in their area.
The Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly Prem Kumar, soon after the end of the question-answer hour, demanded sacking and legal action against a power board engineer in Buxar saying he and his men on March 10, in a state of drunkenness, beat up local BJP workers who had gone to see him to request replacement of a transformer in their area that had gone bad a few weeks ago.
"One person was left with a broken arm and the other bore serious injuries on his head. They are being treated at the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). Despite an FIR against this engineer and his men, no one has been arrested as of today," the BJP leader said.
When Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Chowdhary told them to stop disrupting the House proceedings, opposition leaders huddled in the well shouting anti-Nitish government slogans.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
