Patna: A fire in Punaichak in Patna on Wednesday afternoon destroyed more than 60 huts leaving the residents without any roof, food, or money.
As reported, the fire broke out around 12:30 pm and after consuming one house in its flame, it spread to other huts in the area. By the time fire trucks arrived, over 60 huts were burnt to ground destroying all the items, including cash and jewelries, with it.
Exploding cooking cylinders did not help the situation either as more than half a dozen fire tenders tried to get a grip on the raging flame. It took nearly three hours to finally douse the flame but by then all the huts were destroyed leaving the residents penniless.
Local leaders were making arrangement for shelter and food for the victims.
With no electric wire hanging above, officials believe the fire was started accidentally while cooking in one of the huts in the area.
Fortunately, no one was said to be hurt in the incident.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
