LJP Youths Burn Effigies of Nitish, Lalu

Patna: Supporters of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) in Patna on Tuesday burnt effigies of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his partner in politics Lalu Prasad Yadav for allowing a 'convicted criminal' to share dais with the President of India during a function in Patna to mark the 100th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's Champaran March.

Demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister, the protestor said that by putting Yadav, who remains out of jail on bail after being convicted by a CBI court in the multi-crore rupees fodder scam, the Nitish administration had insulted Gandhi along with hundreds of thousands of freedom fighters who fought against the British rule by making huge sacrifices whereas the RJD Chief strived only to fatten his wallet and to carve political careers for his children.

"The Chief Minister must resign or else we will launch a statewide 'chakka jam' to force his resignation," said the President of the Patna Youth LJP Krishna Singh.
