Patna: After days of protest and partial shutdown of petrol pumps in Patna district following a series of armed robberies and murders of the pump and their owners, authorities in the state capital on Wednesday arrested four men on charges of carrying out these crimes spanning last four months.
The arrested men were arrested from Fatuha-Daniyawan Road and were identified as Mintu Yadav, Jackie Yadav, Raj Kumar Yadav, and Ajit Kumar Yadav – all residents of Fatuah, a few miles east of Patna.
Police recovered five cell phones, two country-made pistols, six live cartridges, one rifle, several burglary tools along with nearly two kilogram of marijuana.
Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said that the gang had admitted of committing crime at petrol pumps along with other heist they pulled in the past involving other businesses.
Police said the gang had nearly two dozen members and attempts were on to nab the remaining gang members.
As recalled, petrol pumps in Patna under the aegis of Patna Petroleum Dealers' Association (PPDA) had observed shut down on at least two occasions to protest rising crime against them.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
