Patna: Former Chief Minister of Bihar Jitan Ram Manjhi, at a press conference on Monday, said that he would soon meet with the Governor of Bihar and the Central Home Minister in Delhi urging them to initiate a CBI probe into the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and former RJD MP and a jailbird Mohammed Shahabuddin nexus after a recording of their conversation was released by a private television channel this past weekend.
"This matter is too serious to be investigated by a state agency as they can be influenced by politicians. Only a high-level probe by the CBI would bring the truth to the front. I will soon meet with Governor Ram Nath Kovind and then with Home Minister Rajnath Singh to demand a CBI investigation into the Lalu-Shahabuddin nexus," Manjhi said.
The leader of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) said that talking to someone from the jail cell is against the rules in the jail manual and when the leader of a ruling party in the state acts at the direction of a criminal, it was not good for the state.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
