Patna: Authorities in Patna on Thursday raided the home of a builder in Agam Kuan and recovered Rs. 30 lakh in banned notes of Rs. 1000 denomination.
Speaking at a press conference, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said that the raid was conducted at the home of Vinod Vishwas, a builder, living in a flat in Ganesh Tower, following a tip-off from an anonymous source.
As recalled, the NDA government banned Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 last November making it illegal to store large sum of these bills under the Specified Bank Notes (Cessation of Liabilities) Act of 2017.
"The police carried out the raid after confirming the tip was credible. During the search, the cops stumbled upon cash and took Vinod and four of his associates in custody," the SSP said.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
