Patna: Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in Patna on Thursday inaugurated a Business Process Service (BPS) Center launched by the Information and Technology wing of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Prasad, at the inaugural event at Hotel Maurya, said that this is the first of its kind in Bihar and has 1000 seats capable of providing employment to 3000 qualified men and women.
"The NDA government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has sanctioned 46,000 BPSs across the country. Out of this, 4600 seats are in Bihar," Prasad said crediting the Prime Minister for launching the ambitious Digital India program that promises to usher the nation in the 21st century.
The Minister touted the Digital India program saying the nation was saving Rs. 50,000 crore annually by linking benefit payment under 84 schemes through Aadhaar-ready bank accounts.
Prasad, however, criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for 'his apathy towards IT sector' saying the government was reluctant to provide land for setting up infrastructure that, in turn, was denying job opportunities to millions of youths of Bihar.
"When it comes to development, there should be no politics. The state government must act proactively by providing land to those who wish to invest in Bihar," he said.
Tata Consultancy Service CEO Rajesh Gopinathan, BJP leaders Nand Kishore Yadav, Nitin Navin and others were present on the occasion.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
