Patna: Police had to resort to lathi charge when the family members of a woman resorted to violence following the discovery of her dead body outside Sai Hospital in Kankarbagh in Patna on Sunday morning.
According to the reports, a woman in her early '30s was brought to the hospital on Saturday night. The family members, however, felt that the hospital was trying to charge more for her treatment than warranted. After some word, the patient was admitted in the hospital.
On Sunday morning, people in the area found the body of the woman outside the hospital on the pavement. Her body was covered in blood and some said it appeared to have been dropped from the roof of the building.
Hearing this, the victim's family members assaulted hospital staff and vandalized the place demanding immediate arrests of those responsible for her death.
Soon the situation got out of hand and police had to resort to lathi charge to restore order in the area.
Hospital officials have denied having thrown the woman from the roof. Police is investigating the matter, Kankarbagh police station in-charge Ravi Kumar saidBLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
