Patna: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) General Secretary and Member of Parliament Tariq Anwar, in Patna on Thursday, blasted the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Center saying instead of focusing on his poll promises, the Prime Minister was more concerned about things like 'Triple Talaq', Cow Protection, and 'Ghar Wapasi'.
Speaking at a press conference, Anwar lambasted the NDA government for abandoning the agenda of 'sab ka vikas, sab ka saath' and instead was indulging in politics that is red meat to his base.
"During his campaign, Mr. Modi was talking about reducing poverty, corruption, unemployment, and suicide by farmers but it seems like those issues do not matter to him. Now he is indulging in issues like 'Triple Talaq', Cow Protection, and 'Ghar Wapasi' which do not bode well for the country," the NCP leader said.
Without mentioning the name of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad Yadav or any of his family members, Anwar said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was on a witch-hunt to malign all those who were opposed to the NDA policies.
"Government agencies like the CBI and the Income Tax Department are being used to harass political opponents and a vicious campaign has been launched against all those who even slightly differ from Narendra Modi," he said.
The NCP leader, evaluating the first three years of the Modi government, said he would give it a big zero for failing on all fronts.
"Terrorism and extremism are still alive and well after the Prime Minister promised us that they would be contained after implementation of demonetization nearly six months ago. All those promises he made in Bihar during his campaign in the state are nowhere to be heard and have been forgotten. It is clear that the Modi government has failed on all fronts," Anwar said.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
