Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President and former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday celebrated his 70th birthday by cutting a cake in the presence of his wife and ex Chief Minister Rabri Devi, his two sons, other family members, party leaders and loyalists.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar drove to Yadav's residence and congratulated the RJD leader in person by presenting him a bouquet while also wishing for his long life.
Showering Yadav with praise, Kumar said that the contributions of the RJD chief in Bihar were immense that had huge impact on a society where there were not too many voices for those who had no voice in the state politics.
Yadav, speaking on the occasion, said the only gift he wanted for his birthday was a 'Mahagathbandhan' at the national level to defeat the 'fascist forces', read the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), at the Center.
"Our partners should start preparing for a national alliance to show the NDA the door in the next election. That would be the best gift for me," he said.
It may be recalled that Yadav's previous attempts to forge a national alliance against the BJP have utterly failed but that has not stopped him from taking the chance just one more time.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
