Patna: Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Keshav Prasad Maurya was given a warm welcome by the party members in Patna on Sunday where he dared Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to hold fresh Assembly elections if he was so confident of the success of his administration that, he said, was aided and abetted by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress.
"Nitish Kumar is under this illusion that the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar has been a huge success despite contradicting facts. However, if he is so confident about his administration's success he should dissolve his cabinet and announce fresh election in the state now and not wait for 2019 Lok Sabha polls," Maurya said.
Predicting BJP would sweep Bihar if elections were held today, the UP Deputy CM said that under Nitish Kumar, education had completely collapsed in the state and crime was once again the most lucrative business in Bihar.
"Bihar will only develop when the BJP is in power in Bihar. A JD-U and RJD-free Bihar is in the best interest of the people and the BJP is ready to show them the door come next state elections," a confident Maurya said.
On the occasion, the BJP leaders inducted Samrat Chowdhary, the former Janata Dal – U leader and the Urban Development Minister in the Nitish government, also the son of RJD leader Shakuni Chowdhary, into the party saying his presence would make the Bihar BJP stronger and better.
Others who also joined the BJP in the presence of Maurya, party state President Nityanand Rai, and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Ram Kripal Yadav, and Nand Kishore Yadav on Sunday included former Bihar Chief Minister and Congress leader Satish Kumar (Kumar was the CM of Bihar for only 10 days in 1968); Samajwadi Party leaders Basawan Bhagat and Raghavendra Pratap Singh, and former legislators Ganesh Paswan and Dinesh Yadav (RJD).BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
