Patna: The ongoing saga of protesting students being thrashed by police continues in Patna as dozens of students demanding re-evaluation of their answer papers were once again at the receiving end as cops rained batons on them on Buddha Marg near Patna Planetarium not too far from the Intermediate Council office.

Several people were hurt in the incident and many were detained for assaulting law enforcement officials.

Police, despite pictures from today's incident, denied having attacked students saying all they were trying to do was to remove the blockade that the protestors had created on Buddha Marg and on the busy Bailey Road.

"Not one student was hurt in the incident and those who are claiming their arms were broken or sustained other wounds already had injuries on their bodies. All we did was remove the blockade so the traffic could start moving again," DSP (Law and Order) Shibli Nomani said.
