Patna: All eyes were on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday when he returned to the state capital from Rajgir where he had been recuperating from illness for the past three days. Media and political pundits, however, were equally disappointed when he chose to confine himself inside his home to avoid answering any tough question from the reporters.

Kumar, who suddenly became sick three days ago oddly enough to coincide with the visit of Meira Kumar, the opposition's Presidential candidate; and the dramatic CBI raid on the residence of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi last Friday, walked past a posse of reporters outside his official residence ignoring any and all questions of the media.

"The Chief Minister is still not fully recovered and his doctor has advised him complete rest. Because of this, his weekly Lok Samvad has been postponed until he is feeling fine again," said a spokesperson for Kumar.

Lok Samvad is the new form of what was formerly known as the 'Janata Durbar' designed to bring the public and the Chief Minister face to face so he could address their complaints and concerns in order to resolve them.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Patna continued to build pressure on the Chief Minister to break his silence over CBI raids and FIRs against Lalu, Rabri, and Nitish Kumar's deputy and RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav, the partners in the coalition government in Bihar.

"Nitish Kumar must break his silence and force Tejaswi Yadav to resign from his post if he still believes in 'good governance' and cares about his own reputation," said BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi.
