Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, like his many previous predecessors, is all set to make the customary visit to the flood-affected districts in Bihar that has caused the loss of over 300 lives along with damages to crops and properties to the tune of crores of rupees.
The PM will then conduct aerial survey in a helicopter over Araria, Kishanganj, and Katihar – the three districts where flood has caused immeasurable loss of lives and properties. He will also fly over Darbhanga, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, East and West Champaran, and Gopalganj before arriving in Patna.
In Patna, Modi will meet with senior state officials to review rescue and relief work being carried out in North Bihar.
Modi's scheduled visit comes shortly at the heels of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's request to provide central help to the state to combat flood. Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi had also on Monday urged the PM to visit flood-hit zones in Bihar to get a better understanding of the devastation.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
