Patna: Janata Dal – U leader and Nitish Kumar's chosen attack man Sanjay Singh, on Tuesday compared former party President Sharad Yadav to 'Shikhandi' – a eunuch character in Mahabharata – who owed his entire political existence to Nitish Kumar.
"Sharad Yadav is the Shikhandi of the modern age. He is a 'political traitor' who has no standing of his own in Bihar. He owes his entire political existence to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. It was Nitish Kumar who helped Sharad Yadav make his base in Bihar but now he is acting as if Nitish Kumar owes his political existence to him," Singh, a full-time Nitish defender, said.
Singh was reacting after Yadav, at a meeting of his supporters in Delhi last week, declared himself as the real leader of the JD-U while 'removing' Nitish Kumar from the party's President post and replacing him with Gujarat JD-U leader Chhotu Bhai Vasawa.
"Yadav is a political traitor but his countdown for his expulsion from the party has begun. JD-U is Nitish Kumar and not Sharad Yadav. Even the Election Commission agrees with us. Now that he is about to lose his Rajya Sabha membership, he is running around all over the country with his tantrums on full display. He has lost all sense of decency and now he is about to lose his political existence in Bihar as well," a fiery Singh said.
The JD-U spokesperson's sentiments were echoed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Nitin Navin who said that Sharad Yadav had a history of always using someone as his political crutch to remain relevant.
"Anyone who has to rely on Lalu Prasad Yadav or Congress is bound to sink sooner or later. Sharad Yadav is currently going through that phase so his political end is not too far away," Navin said.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
