Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Patna Saheb Shatrughan Sinha is on the collision course with the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah faction of the party as the former Bollywood star went on a tweetstorm on Monday casting aspersion on the CBI court in Ranchi while expressing sympathy for Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family.

With rumors of BJP dropping him in the next Lok Sabha elections for his relentless anti-party statements, Sinha, in a four-parter tweet, expressed his solidarity with the RJD first family:

"This tweet is in my personal capacity as a family friend, not in any political capacity…& don't care about paid trollers & Sarkari darbaris. I am a firm believer in healthy politics & not in the politics of vendetta. I am certainly disappointed by the judgement at Ranchi…

"…like millions of HIS friends, followers, well wishers & family members, While I hold the Indian Judiciary in very high esteem, still, with due respect to the Judge who delivered verdict, I must admit that I am quite anguished by the judgement & harsh punishment as…

"…also by the chain of unexpected, or shall I say expected events. Considering that so many have been let off by the honourable court – welcome decisions those – for lack of direct evidence, wish the quantum of punishment was less harsh, or lesser by at least a few months…

"…giving a chance for immediate bail. Hope wish & pray HIS sons in particular & of course supporters & well wishers of the mass leader, will approach higher courts & get desired relief soon..sooner the better. Satyamevajayate! Jai Hind!"

Sinha's capitalizing the word 'HIS' twice in his tweet to imply Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad Yadav's larger-than-life status in the Indian politics was seen by many as him trying to cozy up with the man convicted in the fodder scam in the hope of either getting a ticket in the next Parliamentary polls in case the BJP gives him the old heave-ho or to get his support if he decides to run as an anti-NDA Independent candidate.

According to some sources, the actor-turned-politician's long run with the BJP is nearing its end reaching a point of no return. His relationship with the party soured the moment Narendra Modi, the then Gujarat Chief Minister, was chosen as the party candidate for the Prime Minister's post in 2013. Since then, Sinha had been on a crusade to highlight faults within his own party while never missing an opportunity to praise Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar despite a plethora of corruption charges against the former.
