An unique way to construct a new road is invented by none other than the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC). A new road starting behind the Munshi Premchand statue in Rajendra Nagar is planned by the PMC. However, instead of filling and leveling the place by concrete and soils, the PMC is filling the area with garbage collected from Patna and it’s surrounding.

It may appear that it is not such a big issue but if you ask the people living in that area, you will find out that the conditions are worse than one could imagine, in fact, downright hellish. Challenge someone to stay in this area for an hour and you will find out the ground reality.

This place is not an abandoned zone but is in the heart of thickly-populated residential area. On one side of this proposed road is the Moinul Haq Stadium where many Govt. offices and a CRPF camp is located while on the other side is the famous Premchand Rangshala, NCC office, Physical Training College, and hostels of Patna University. Nearby is the Rajendra Nagar, a heavily populated residential colony.

Passers-by cannot help but cover their nose so imagine the plight of people who have homes there and have to live with a nasty, foul odor 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Forced to keep their windows closed to avoid the nauseating stench, the residents are also having to deal with worms and insects who continue to find their ways into nearby homes.

The matter was taken up with the PMC with nearly all local news channels such as Maurya TV, Sahara Bihar, ETV Bihar, covering the hell on earth but the PMC Commissioner remains oblivious to the people's nightmare waiting for some major epidemic to break before he turns his attention towards this problem.

We, the people of this area, hope to gain the attention of the PMCH by asking you to report it on your web site that might compel the PMC to change its stand and take the necessary steps before things worsen in the coming monsoon season.
