Placing wreaths at the Kargil Memorial Chowk near Gandhi Maidan in Patna, the Governor conveyed his best wishes to all members of the Indian armed forces and expressed his gratitude for keeping the nation safe from terrorists and infiltrators.

Kumar, in his address, also praised the Indian army saying each time the nation faced danger from outside forces, the Indian jawans delivered without fail and kept the national flag flying in the face of extreme danger.

"We are very proud of them for all the sacrifices they have made to keep us safe and free," Kumar said.

The program was attended by a number of armed jawans from the Bihar Regimental Center in Danapur, including the wife and father of Ganesh Prasad Yadav who gave his life for the nation in the Kargil conflict.

A program featuring patriotic songs was organized on the occasion by the Information and Public Relations department.
