Mauritius Prime Minister Dr. Naveenchandra Ramgoolaam, before leaving Bihar after completing his first ever trip to the land of his ancestors, said on Wednesday that his trip may have been short but he was taking with him an experience of a lifetime that he would cherish as long as he lived.
"I am taking with me the sweet memories of Bihar. I feel sad to leave the land of my forefathers but I am already looking forward to my next trip," the Prime Minister said at Gaya Airport before leaving for Mauritius.
Earlier, the Prime Minister and with his wife Veena Ramgoolaam met with the mother of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his official residence at 1 Anne Marg in Patna and asked for her blessings.
Speaking in Bhojpuri, Mrs. Parmeshwari Devi blessed the first couple of Mauritius as they touched her feet in respect and accepted her invitation to come back to Bihar again and spend more time with her and the people of Bihar.
After having their breakfast at the Chief Minister's residence the PM and his wife left for Bodh Gaya where they paid a visit to the Mahabodhi Temple.
Before leaving, Ramgoolaam said his trip to Bihar was just the beginning of a new cultural and economic relationship between Bihar and Mauritius. "There is so much potential of cooperation in the field of tourism, agriculture, health and other sectors between the two nations that we are limited only by our policies," said the Mauritius PM.
"While my entire trip to Bihar was memorable, the highlight was the unveiling of my father's statue in Patna. The love and affection that the people of Bihar showered on me and my wife is something that would stay with us for ever," he said.
