Woman Arrested for Running Sex Racket

The Patna police on Thursday arrested a woman in Phulwarisharif for running an elaborate sex ring in Patna district following a complaint lodged by a woman who said her 18-year old daughter was lured into business and sold to an engineer living in Punaichak area.
The woman identified as Asghari Khatoon was charged with running a prostitution racket involving more than a dozen young women who were misled into joining the flesh trade by falsely promising to find respectable jobs for her.
Khatoon is denying the charges saying she never misled any girls and the woman who filed the charges against her was lying.
Sources in police, however, said that the woman filing the complaints was upset because Khatoon stopped making her 'payments' that she had promised to her in exchange of her daughter's 'services' to her clients.
More arrests may be forthcoming, the police said.
