Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, at a press conference following his Janata Durbar in Patna on Monday, condemned the killing of five people, including a child, in Phulwarisharif on Sunday night and said no stone would be left unturned to catch the killers and the maximum punishment meted out to them.

"What has happened in Phulwari area is despicable and should be condemned by all irrespective of their party affiliations," Kumar said.

The Chief Minister also took a dig at the UPA government at the Center saying its rout in the next Parliamentary elections was a foregone conclusion.

"The Central government is running helter-skelter to save its throne in New Delhi but it is only a matter of time when they are shown the door and is replaced by the NDA government," Kumar said.

Mocking the Bihar leaders in the UPA Cabinet, the Chief Minister said they were enjoying their last days in power just 'as the tobacco companies urge people to enjoy the cigarette till the last puff of it'.

Earlier, Kumar met with a number of people who had come there to seek justice including the mother and sisters of 14-year old Akaash who was kidnapped from Shastri Nagar in Patna in August 2007.

"We do not care whether the case is being investigated by the CBI or any other agency. All we care about is the safe return of Akaash but it seems no one else is interested in his recovery," said Anju Pandey, the mother of Akaash.

Savitri Devi of Sonepur also appealed to the Chief Minister to help recover her son Satish Kumar who was abducted more than nine months ago.
