Dr. Ravi Ranjan Sworn-in as Patna High Court Justice

Patna High Court Chief Justice R. M. Lodha, on Monday, administered oath of secrecy to the court's newest justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan raising the total number of justices at Patna High Court to 27.
At a simple ceremony organized at the Marble Hall of the Patna High Court, Chief Justice Lodha, after receiving the proclamation letter sent by the President of India Pratibha Patil, sworn in Dr. Ranjan in the presence of eminent lawyers, retired Chief Justice U. P. Singh, former minister Shakeel Ahmed Khan, state Attorney General P. K. Shahi and other top bureaucrats.
Dr. Ranjan who started his law career in 1990 was appointed the Senior Standing Council in 2004.
Minutes after being sworn-in, Justice Ranjan participated in a hearing along with Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad.
With the appointment of Justice Ranjan, 16 more seats of judges remain vacant at Patna High Court.
