RJD Youths Protest against the NDA Government
Patna: July 14, 2008
The students' wing of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Patna on Monday, took out a 'donkey rally' to mock the NDA government for failing to find a solution for the ongoing Patna University employees' strike that has left education in tatters while incredibly damaging the reputation of the university.
With donkeys sporting boards bearing the names of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, and Human Resources Minister Harinaryan Singh, the students marched past the university office on Ashok Rajpath and accused the government of playing with the future of thousands of Patna University students.
"Our entire life is at stake but the NDA government is pretending as if nothing is wrong with the University. If this continued for few more weeks, we would be forced to launch an agitation that would paralyze the entire bureaucratic functioning and bring the government to its knees," said Dhananjay Yadav, one of the RJD young politicians.
Meanwhile, yet another youth wing of the RJD, burnt the effigy of the Chief Minister at Dak Bungalow Crossing to protest against severe water-logging in Patna, recent attack on journalists by some Patna cops, irregularities in kerosene coupons and a host of other issues.
