Togadia Accused Nitish Government of Appeasing Muslims
Patna: July 21, 2008
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international general secretary Praveen Togadia, during his visit to Patna on Monday, accused the Nitish-led NDA government in Bihar of appeasing Muslims and also blamed the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) of participating in the game to strengthen vote bank.
"The Nitish government is no different from other administrations that operate on the philosophy of vote bank through appeasement. It is introducing social schemes like 'Hunar' exclusive for Muslim girls. Why could not be this scheme for girls from all community and religion," the VHP leader known for his fiery speech and divisive policies said.
Togadia also took a shot at the UPA government on the Amarnath Shrine Board land dispute saying it was a conspiracy against the Hindus and Hindu sentiments.
"If the Central government does not return the land to the Board, we would be forced launch a nationwide stir to expose the nefarious design of the Congress and its allies," the VHP leader said adding his organization would also raise the Ram Setu issue during the next Parliamentary elections and would continue to oppose the nuclear deal with the United States.
