With temperature hovering in the 40s and a long queue of justice-seekers outside the Chief Minister's residence, the condition was ideal for some of the visitors who, after waiting for hours to meet with Nitish Kumar, fainted due to exhaustion and had to be rushed to local hospitals for treatment.

It all started with Mahesh Singh of Ghosi who had arrived at the Janata Durbar to complaint about his recent clash with some villagers who beat him and his family members before slapping them with a police case with a huge potential financial loss.

As soon as Mahesh began talking to the Chief Minister, he collapsed on the ground and fainted causing a flutter at the Janata Durbar.

He was revived by the officials and rushed to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) for further treatment.

Kumar instructed IG Sunil Kumar to look into his complaints and take necessary steps to resolve the matter.

Minutes later, a woman whose identification was not ascertained, also fainted followed by one Rajesh Yadav of Samastipur.

Both of them were also sent to the PMCH for immediate medical care.

Concerned by the sweltering heat and its impact on those who had been waiting outside the Chief Minister's bungalow for hours, Kumar directed the officials to ensure everyone had plenty of water and sattu-mixed water to beat the temperature.
