Nitish Honors Super-30 Students

Patna: June 7, 2008

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on Saturday hosted the students from the Super-30 coaching institute for cracking IIT entrance test saying the government would pay for their entire education so they could concentrate on their studies without having to worry about paying their tuition or other expenses.

"We are totally committed to support our students so they go out in the world and make names for themselves as well as for their state," the Chief Minister said while honoring the 30 students who were all picked by the prestigious Super-30 and groomed to ace the rigorous tests required to get admissions in the equally esteemed Indian Institute of Technology.

The Chief Minister had earlier announced Rs. 50,000 cash reward for all successful students.

On Saturday, Kumar said that he would soon initiate a new scheme to honor all successful people, including the students, from Bihar in a move to recognize and promote talents from the state.

Kumar also said that the government was studying the existing coaching policy in Bihar and ways to strengthen it while eliminating the unscrupulous elements from the educational scene.
