Administration Gears up for the VP's Arrival
Patna: June 9, 2008
Officials in Patna on Monday conducted a full dress rehearsal to prepare for the arrival of Vice President Hamid Ansari who will be coming to Patna on Wednesday on a two-day trip during which he would inaugurate the Chandragupta Institute of Management (CIM) while also participating in other scheduled programs.
The mock procession of the Vice President first arrived at the Raj Bhawan from the Patna Airport and then proceeded to the Imarat-e-Sharia in Phulwarisharif. It then returned to the Raj Bhawan and then left for Sri Krishna Memorial Hall.
While returning to the Raj Bhawan, the procession ran into a major traffic jam near the Income Tax roundabout displaying flaws in the plan that the officials said would be worked out during the actual visit of Mr. Ansari.
Meanwhile, the traffic, due to intense road blocks and passing motorcade, came to grinding halt at all major intersections in the state capital causing much inconvenience to the general public.
The CIM inaugural function would be held at Phanishwar Nath Renu Bhawan which would also serve as its temporary home until a new campus is developed in the proposed Mithapur educational park, officials have said.
