FIR against JD-U Minister Narendra Singh, Son

Patna: June 13, 2008

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Falguni Prasad Yadav, on Friday, lodged a criminal case against the Food and Civil Supply minister Narendra Singh and his MLA son Ajay Singh in connection with the last month's incident in which Singh allegedly shoved Yadav from a platform following a scuffle at a public event in Jamui.

Yadav, in his police report, alleged that the incident that took place on May 28 left him with a fractured leg and injuries in his chest.

Calling the incident a 'murderous attack' on his life, Yadav also said the perpetrators and his support snatched a golden chain from his neck and Rs. 5,000 that he had in his pocket.

Singh has denied the allegations saying the push was purely unintentional and there was no malice involved.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Singh has been accused of shoving someone off the platform during a public event.

Nearly a year ago on June 15, a woman in Bhagalpur had accused Singh of pushing her off from a wooden platform as she approached him to ask for a job for her son.

Singh, the state Agriculture Minister at the time of the incident, later apologized to Halko Devi who had claimed that she broke her arm after being violently pushed by the minister.
