BJP leader Rajiv Pratap RudyBhartiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson and former Central Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy in Patna on Saturday filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha seat in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and other BJP leaders.

Rudy, who was earlier nominated by the party leaders following the removal of BJP leader Jainarain Nishad for his anti-party activities, filled out and submitted his papers to the State Assembly Secretary and election official Surendra Prasad Sharma.

Since there are no other contestants in the race, Rudy's inclusion into the Rajya Sabha is imminent.

BJP state president Radha Mohan Singh, Health Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, Water Resources Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav, Road Construction Minister Prem Kumar, dissident party leaders Rameshwar Chaurasia, Avnish Kumar, Janardan Singh Sigriwal, and Chandramohan Rai were also present on the occasion though the rebel leaders made no attempt to hide their displeasure with the party leadership.

Rudy who earlier arrived in Patna from New Delhi was given a warm welcome by his supporters at the Patna Airport.

"Now that this formality is over, we all need to combine our forces and fight against the UPA in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections," Rudy said adding he would be a very vocal force in the Rajya Sabha to raise issues that concern Bihar.
