Burglars Hit Mobile Shops in Patna

Patna: June 15, 2008

Criminals in Patna under Rajiv Nagar police station on late Saturday night broke into a mobile phone shop and escaped with nearly 60 new cell phones, accessories, recharge vouchers, and cash to the tune of approximately Rs. 5 lakh, the police said.

As reported, the criminals cut open a hole in the steel shutter of Relation Mobile Shop and with the help of a child or someone with small physical appearance, emptied the store of its valuables including Rs. 5,000 in cash.

The theft was discovered by the owner of the shop Ravi Ranjan, a Patalipura Colony resident, when he arrived at his store on Sunday morning.

In yet another incident, the criminals broke into another mobile shop 'Mobile Magic' on Boring Road and got away with phones and accessories valued at Rs. 3 lakh.

FIRs have been lodged in both incidents though no arrest has been made yet, the police said.
