The 5-member team representing the Japan Electric Power Corporation would spend the next five days in Bihar, including a visit to Kaimur to review the proposed site of the hydel power plant.

Though the team is mostly interested in developing the Hathiadah-Durgawati project, it would also explore similar such projects in other parts of Bihar, the minister said.

The Japanese team also held a meeting with the officials of Bihar Hydroelectric Project Corporation (BHPC) to discuss issues related with Bihar's power problems and ways to minimize it.

Some members of the team had earlier visited Bihar last January and their second visit this month is being seen as a favorable sign indicating a genuine interest in the state by the Japanese experts.
