Nitish Asks Party Workers to Prepare for LS Elections
Patna: June 17, 2008
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while addressing a group of party workers from West Champaran and Valmikinagar, on Tuesday in Patna, asked them to prepare for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections saying the NDA was poised to sweep the polls in view of the failed policies of the incumbent UPA leaders.
Lauding immense progress made during the NDA rule in the state in the past two and a half years, the Chief Minister said the migration of labor from Bihar had reduced substantially causing many states to put their plans on pause.
"All the villages with a minimum population of 500 are being connected with pitched roads and bridges shrinking the distance between them tremendously. People are finding jobs close to their homes making Bihar a more prosperous state. All these factors will play key roles in the next Lok Sabha elections that would see the demise of the Congress-led UPA government," Kumar said.
The Chief Minister also accepted feedbacks from the party workers and reviewed progress in welfare schemes in West Champaran district.
