A. N. Sinha's Birth Anniversary Celebrated

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, at a function organized to mark the 121st birth anniversary of eminent educationist and former Chief Minister of Bihar Anugrah Narayan Sinha at A. N. College in Patna on Wednesday said he was committed to turn the dream of Anugrah Babu into reality by continuing to work for improving education in the state.
Kumar, who garlanded the statue of Mr. Sinha at the college campus, said the NDA government, since coming into power nearly two and a half years ago, had taken numerous measures to change the educational landscape in Bihar.
"Beside continuing to press for the status of Central University to the Patna University and the recent openings of the branch of BIT Mesra, Chanakya Law University, and Chandragupta Institute of Management, Bihar is soon going have to an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), an Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), an NIFT, and the Nalanda International University, among many other new schools and colleges for minorities and other under-privileged sections of the society," the Chief Minister said.
B. N. Pandey, the Vice Chancellor of Magadh University, in his speech said the university was soon going to introduce more than two dozen new courses including one on Water Science and Management.
Member of Parliament Nikhil Kumar, the Vice Chancellor of Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabi-Farsi University Dr. Qamar Hasan, A. N. College Principal Dr. Sitaram Singh and many other leaders and educationists were also present on the occasion.
