International Meet in UK to Focus on Bihar

A group of doctors in UK from Bihar will be holding an international meet dubbed as 'India Development Initiative' (IDI) on June 22 in Manchester to discuss implementation of various developmental schemes in the field of health and education, IDI General Secretary Dr. Rajay Narain said.
Dr. Rajay Narain told PatnaDaily.Com that the programs to be implemented in partnership with various NGOs and voluntary organizations, though designed for entire India, would primarily focus on issues that most affect Bihar.
Several eminent professionals including doctors and politicians from both India and UK, and NGO officials have confirmed their presence in the meet that is being co-sponsored by the State Bank Of India, Manchester.
A partial list of those who would be addressing at the meet include Mr. Ivan Lewis (Minister of Health, UK), Mr. Ian Stewart (Member of Parliament, Eccles, Greater Manchester), Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Health Minister of India Mr. Shatrughan Sinha, Mr. Amod Kanth (IPS and Secretary, Prayas, Prof. Gajendra Verma (Emeritus Professor of Education, Manchester University), Dr. Murli Sinha (GP Walsall and the President of Bihar Foundation UK), and Mr. Royston Dawber (Chair, Kanka-Gajendra Foundation).
Dr. Narain said that more than 150 delegates from Europe and India are expected to participate in the meeting and suggest ways to implement schemes in the field of Cancer and Lymphoma treatment; Cataract and Retinopathy, Hypertension and Diabetes Check-up mobile vans.
