Kiran Bedi Delivers Uplifting Speech to Patna Students
Patna: June 21, 2008
India's first woman IPS officer and social activists Kiran Bedi, at a seminar organized by the Arcade Business College at Ravindra Bhawan in Patna on Saturday exhorted the youths of Bihar to stop depending on the government for employments but to 'go out and create job for yourself and others'.
"You have been blessed with a good heart, a great brain, and two hands. Use them to create jobs for yourself as well as other people around you instead of solely depending on the government to provide you employment and other amenities of the life," Bedi, who was given a standing ovation upon her entry, said.
The Magsaysay award winner said that Bihar had the most potential to prosper and develop in social and economic terms and the responsibility to make Bihar competitive lied squarely in the hands of the youths who must step forward to rid the state from widespread corruption, casteism, and crime.
Bedi also honored Ashish Kumar, the director of the Arcade Business College, by presenting a certificate and a memento to him.
