Photo by Anupam SinghNationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president Upendra Kushwaha, at a press conference in Patna on Tuesday, blew the bugle of war with his former party Janata Dal (U) following the clash between his party workers and the JD-U activists on Monday saying the JD-U was getting nervous by the rising influence of the NCP in Bihar.

"The JD-U has obviously adopted the autocratic ways to run the state affairs but we are not going to allow them to get away with it. We will go to the people of Bihar and take the JD-U head on in the court of public," Kushwaha declared.

The NCP leader said a party delegate would meet with Governor R. S. Gavai on June 26 and hand him over a memo to highlight the atrocities being committed under the Nitish administration.

"We will also stage rallies across the state and burn effigies of the Bihar Chief Minister on Wednesday to protest against assault on our party workers," Kushwaha said.

"We can also take the easy route and adopt the ways of the JD-U but we believe in the Indian Constitution and would engage in protests within the purview of our Constitution. It is our request to the Chief Minister to keep his supporters under control or things in Bihar could go from bad to worse," he said.
