Photo by Shashi UttamAgitators under the banner of the All India Students Federation in Patna on Thursday shut down offices and colleges under Magadh University to protest against rise in tuition fee and holding of exams without completion of the course and threatened to intensify their agitation if their demands were not fulfilled immediately.

AISF state vice president Vishwajeet Kumar said that the students expect their demands to be met by May 18 after which the entire university will be forced to shut down by a number of student organizations.

Situation was eventually brought under control after the Vice Chancellor of the university B. N. Pandey talked with the union leaders on the phone and invited them to take part in the May 18 meeting of the Examination Board in Gaya while promising to give them a fair hearing.
