CPI-ML Leader Criticizes Bihar Government

Patna: May 17, 2008

Dipankar Bhattacharya in Patna. Photo by Anupam SinghCommunist Party of India (ML) national general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya while addressing at the 3-day Non-gazetted Employees Association (Gope faction) convention at Vidyapati Bhawan in Patna on Saturday lashed out at the NDA government in Bihar saying there was no difference between the previous Lalu administration and the current Nitish-led NDA government.

"This government has failed on all fronts; people are still leaving the state in large numbers, not a penny of investment has come to Bihar as Nitish Kumar had promised, education is worse than ever, and conditions in health, irrigation, land reforms are no better than before," Bhattacharya said.

Sticking to the usual Communistic principles, Bhattacharya did what he does best - called for massive demonstration against the Bihar government without giving any indication as to what plans he had to improve economic conditions in the state.

Asking the Communists to expand their stir throughout the nation, Bhattacharya called for strengthening the party base by sticking to the core values of the lefts and hold the lawmakers responsible before the Communist Party is blamed for all the ills in the country.
