Photo by Anupam Singh.The police in Patna on Wednesday nabbed three contract killers with history of bank robberies and other crimes from Punpun and Shastri Nagar police stations and seized two motorcycles and three cell phones, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amit Kumar said.

At a press conference in the presence of the arrested criminals, Kumar said that the three men were minutes away from conducting an armed robbery at the Vikram Jewelers in Danapur when the police, acting on a tip-off, jumped into action and made the arrests.

The criminals were identified as Kamlesh Paswan of Gaya district, Nand Kishore of Arwal, and Ashok Mahto of Dulhin Bazaar in Patna district.

Besides being wanted in bank robberies in Paliganj and Gaya, the three men also admitted of killing more than half a dozen people in various parts of Bihar for hefty sum of money, the SSP said.
