Crime against Women must be Rooted Out; Say Social Activists
Patna: May 22, 2008
Members of the Rashtriya Mahila Brigade at a meeting at the MLA Club in Patna on Thursday organized a workshop on dowry-related torture and killings and fetus killing calling such acts a 'blotch on the society' that need to be eradicated if women expected to move forward with the time.
"Today's women should be aware of these social evils that continue to take their toll despite rise in education level among them. Such acts should be opposed with full force and those engaging in such heinous acts must be brought to justice," Brigade's founder Dilip Kumar Sinha said in his speech.
The national president of the organization Anita Sinha said that without women, the world could not expect to function as today they shared equal participation in all aspects of life and to expect them to be victims for the rest of their lives is simply not an option any more," she said.
